Chapter 54 Meeting Notes: March 2016

Chapter 54 Meeting Minutes: March 2016

The meeting called to order at 1:02 PM by Chapter President John Heimerl

Self-Introductions:

February Meeting minutes were not read.

Committee Reports(s):
Treasurer’s Report was given by Chapter Treasurer Kimberly Beeman
Disbursements and receipts:
The meeting for the month of March held on the 10th is sponsored
and lunch is directly paid for by Joe Meleski of Electronics Research, Inc.
There have been no other receipts for the month of March.
Balance in Chapter Accounts:
Checking: $2283.82
Petty Cash: $244.05
Total Chapter Assets: $2527.87

SBE National: Nothing to report.

EAS: Surry Nuclear Power Station Test went well. EAS NPT was cancelled due to bad weather.
Stations were informed via Twitter. John Heimerl is looking into the offical communications
vehicle for National Periodical Tests and state authority tests.

Certification: No Report.

Frequency Coordination: Gary Becknell reported the sharing of the 2025-2110 MHz Band
Between DoD and the Broadcast Community. The SBE, NAB, and DoD have been working together to develop
a plan that would allow DoD to share use this band, while protecting broadcast ENG continued use of it.
DoD presented the work they have done to date in this matter. Some fail safe ideas and measures
to protect the existing ENG users were discussed. More information will be forthcoming as we move forward.
In Virginia at Wallops Island NASA, there's been a request to use a narrow band channel for uplinking
to a low orbiting platform. This request has been forwarded via email to Hampton Roads TV stations.

New Business: No Meeting scheduled in April (NAB)
